CHAUTAUQUA NATURAL FOODS

Before radio and television there were Chautauqua's - community festivals where people joined together to discuss important issues of the day and learn about new things. Their heyday was from the late 1880's to the 1930's and continues today near Lake Chautauqua in upstate New York.

Chautauqua Natural Foods carries on this educational tradition in serving the health and wellness of our Southern Humboldt Community. Over the past 26 years Chautauqua Natural Foods has grown from a few shelves of vitamins and herbs in Peg's front hallway, thru a couple of one room office spaces, to it's present location since 1986.

We are a family owned business with all our children, nephews, siblings and significant others participating throughout the years. Our dedicated staff are part of this family, and their service to the community and to Chautauqua are invaluable. We are bound by common goals - such as self discovery and living a vibrant and healthy life.

Webster defines "Chautauqua" loosely as a meeting. Located in the center of town, on the new Town Square, "Meet me at Chautauqua" is a common refrain in Garberville and the greater Southern Humboldt Community. See You There!
